The Word Onyx Spelling Club meets twice every month to ensure consistent learning, engagement, and progress tracking.

• Days: First and Last Sunday of every month
• Time: 4:00 PM prompt
• Frequency: Bi-monthly (2 sessions per month)
• Duration: Approximately 2 hours per session

Each meeting follows a structured format that combines energizers, outdoor word play, and competitive challenges, making learning fun, active, and impactful for all participants.

🔹 1. ENERGIZER WELCOME & ICE BREAKERS (30 Minutes)

This opening session helps children relax, bond, and mentally prepare for learning through fun, movement, and positive energy.

Activities include:
🎉 2-Minute Wisdom Pop! 🧠
Short, engaging word tips, spelling facts, or motivational language insights.

🎉 WOW Hype Song – “Bravery Boost”
A confidence-building group song that encourages boldness, participation, and teamwork.

🎉 WOW Power Words
Children learn and chant positive vocabulary words that promote self-belief, focus, and good character.

🎉 Quick Response Game
Fast-paced word or sound-recognition games that sharpen listening and thinking speed.

🎉 Head, Shoulder, Pick
A movement-based game that blends physical coordination with word recall and attention skills.

➡️ Children are quickly grouped at the end of this session in preparation for the next activities.

🔹 2. BRAIN BOOSTER – OUTDOOR WORD PLAY (60 Minutes)

This session combines physical activity with spelling and vocabulary mastery, helping children learn actively and joyfully.

Activities include:
✅ Spell-It Relay Race
Teams race to spell words correctly, reinforcing teamwork, spelling accuracy, and speed.

✅ Word Onyx One-Word Play
Using Word Onyx cards, children form valid words individually or in groups, building confidence and vocabulary depth.

✅ Decode the Word
Learners break down letters, clues, or meanings to discover hidden words.

💃 Dance-The-Word Integration
Dance and movement are creatively applied to any of the activities above to improve memory retention and excitement.

🔹 3. 🏆 WORD ONYX MULTIPLEX “SPELL-IT” CHALLENGE (30 Minutes)

This is the competitive highlight of the club session.

• Priority is given to children officially registered for the Word Onyx competition
• Other learners actively participate as supporters, cheerleaders, and observers, learning through engagement
• Emphasis is placed on confidence, accuracy, creativity, and sportsmanship
