Our word of the day is FLACK!
FLACK (meaning 1) is when lots of people are saying not-so-nice things about something or someone. Imagine you’ve made a drawing, and your friends start saying, ‘That tree looks like a broccoli!’ or ‘Your dog looks like a potato!’ All those comments, even if they’re a bit silly, are like the flack your drawing is getting. It’s just a lot of criticism or complaining.
Example: Let’s say a famous singer releases a new song. If tons of people on the internet start saying, ‘This song is boring!’ or ‘I liked their old songs better!’ — that’s the singer getting a lot of flack for their new music. It’s all the public saying they don’t like it!”
