How to Create a Moral Lesson
A moral lesson is something meaningful your reader can learn from your story.
Good moral lessons include:
- Honesty
- Kindness
- Courage
- Patience
- Responsibility
- Teamwork
- Respect
- Forgiveness
- Hard work
- Perseverance
- Empathy
But don’t simply attach a lesson to your story.
Let the story teach the lesson.
For example, instead of ending with:
“The lesson is that honesty is important.”
Show what happens when the character tells the truth.
Then the reader understands the lesson naturally.
Ask yourself:
What should my reader think about after finishing my story?
Write it down in one sentence.
